詹姆斯是詹姆斯库克大学的健康心理学教授，西澳大利亚大学的兼职教授，电视儿童研究所的荣誉助理研究员。他是屡获殊荣的积极、健康生活心理学(PAHL)小组的联合主任。PAHL是一个跨机构的健康心理学团体，包括詹姆斯库克大学、西澳大利亚大学和电视儿童研究所。James在PAHL的工作中，与研究人员、学生、行业、政府、非营利部门和媒体合作，以改善不同人群的健康结果。
